Safety
When it comes to keeping you and your loved ones safe on the road, Subaru goes through great lengths to give you peace of mind. This shines through in the Subaru Forester and its available advanced driver assist system, EyeSight. The heart of the technology is its color cameras that monitor traffic in order to warn you of potential dangers. With this system in place, you can breathe easier knowing that you have an extra set of eyes watching out for you to help you avoid accidents.
EyeSight features include:
- Pre-Collision Throttle Management: Minimizes engine power if the system detects a possible collision in order to help reduce frontal impact.
- Pre-Collision Braking: Alerts you if you are in danger of colliding with something in front of your vehicle and applies the brake to help you dodge an accident (or at least reduce the effects).
- Adaptive Cruise Control: Adjusts your speed automatically to help you maintain a set distance between you and the car in from of you.
- Lane Keep Assist: Keeps an eye on where your Forester is on the road and warns you if you begin to unintentionally drift from your lane.
The Subaru Forester also features an available Blind-Spot Detection system to help you avoid accidentally merging into another vehicle and an available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert to warn you when other vehicles are about to pass behind you. A Rear-Vision Camera comes standard, helping you back up safely. This feature is available with Reverse Automatic Braking,, a system that lets your Forester stop on its own if it detects that you are about to back into an object.
